The right founder community in India is one that meets in your city, at your stage, often enough for people to remember what you're building. India's startup scene is spread across several hubs, and most of the groups below run chapters in more than one of them. Here are 10 communities across Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai, each checked on its own page on 28 October 2026, with what each costs and how to get in.
A note before you read on: this guide is published by Remote Builders, our own free community for founders who build companies remotely, which you can join online from India. It isn't in the table, because the table is for groups based in India. We've left out any number we couldn't find on a community's own page.
How to choose a founder community in India
Open meetups
If you're early, start with something free. eChai Ventures runs open meetups and demo days, and says it has been in 25+ cities in 10+ countries since 2009. The Product Folks runs free Grabchai meetups for product builders and founders, booked through Luma. Primewise Founders Club runs curated online networking sessions of 25 to 40 founders from its Delhi chapter, and registering on Meetup alone doesn't confirm a seat.
Founder networks with a membership
- AIBoomi. Formerly SaaSBoomi, it's a volunteer, non-profit community for B2B SaaS and AI founders. Boomi Explorer is free, and Boomi Supporter is INR 10,000 + GST per founder a year.
- TiE chapters. TiE runs city chapters with mentoring, member mixers and the TiEcon conferences. TiE Delhi-NCR publishes its prices; TiE Mumbai and TiE Hyderabad ask you to apply.
- GrowthX. A paid, application-based learning community for founders and professionals at ₹14,999 for 12 months, with courses and weekly events.
Pitch events and programmes
Headstart Network is volunteer-led, with chapters in more than 30 Indian cities, and has run since 2007. Its Bharat Pitchathon 5.0 runs in 2026, with a main track for early-stage founders and a dedicated track for women entrepreneurs.

- Delhi NCR. TiEcon Delhi-NCR 2026 is on 2 and 3 December in New Delhi, with member tickets from ₹1,000. AIBoomi lists a Demo Room in Noida on 14 November 2026. Primewise's Delhi group holds an online session on 31 October 2026.

Communities we checked and left out
We left out chapters whose sites blocked us, groups whose newest dated event was before May 2026, programmes whose community is open only to cohort members, a members' club whose only public page was an application form, and organisations whose pages didn't load. If you run an active founder community in India, tell us and we'll check it.
India's startups in numbers
The Press Information Bureau reported 212,283 DPIIT-recognised startups as of 31 January 2026, and 102,054 of them had at least one woman director or partner. A PIB document dated 13 June 2026 puts recognised startups at over 2.3 lakh, or 230,000. That's a lot of founders spread across a lot of cities, which is why local chapters matter.
How to get value in your first month
- Go to one free meetup first. eChai and Grabchai are a low-cost way to meet founders in your city before you pay for anything.
- Pick one network that matches your sector. AIBoomi for B2B SaaS and AI, TiE for broader mentoring and investor access.
- Bring one specific ask. "I need an intro to a founder who has sold SaaS to US mid-market" gets you somewhere.
- Pitch when you're ready. Headstart's Bharat Pitchathon and AIBoomi's Demo Rooms are built for that.
- Add an online group for between events. Our comparison of communities for remote founders covers the online options, and our guide for SaaS founders covers SaaS groups worldwide.
Common mistakes
- Joining for the brand name. A small group that meets near you every month beats a big conference you attend once a year.
- Paying before you've been once. Most paid groups here run open events too. Go to one first.
- Ignoring the entry rules. AIBoomi's online community asks for a founder role at an Indian B2B SaaS startup, and Primewise picks who gets the final invite. Check before you apply.
- Waiting for the perfect group. If nothing fits your city, start one. Our guide to starting a founder meetup covers the first three events.
