Remote Builders is run by Lachlan McRitchie. Here's what we collect through this site and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Invite requests: your first name, city and email, what best describes you, your business size and stage, what you're looking for, and optionally your LinkedIn, website and what you're working on
- Guest suggestions: who you're suggesting, why, an optional link, and your name and email
- Field notes signups: your email
- Member profiles: your name and email, your business name, website, who it's for, descriptions of your business and you, city, industry and business size, your LinkedIn if you add it, a photo of you and your logo if you add them, and the permissions you ticked
- From Bali Startup & Tech: details you gave on the BSTC join form or a BSTC founder dinner application
Why
To review invite requests, guest suggestions and directory listings, reply to you, run the community, publish the directory listings you've asked for, and send the updates you've asked for. Details from the Bali Startup & Tech join form and BSTC founder applications are combined with Remote Builders form responses into one private list in Google Sheets, with a private copy in Supabase, used only to run the community and reply to people. Nothing is sold or shared with sponsors.
The member directory
Listing your company is optional and needs a separate tick of the box. We review every listing by hand before it appears.
Nobody is listed in the directory without ticking the directory box on the Remote Builders listing form, even if we already have your details from Bali Startup & Tech.
Once approved, these are public on your profile page: business name, website link, who it's for, descriptions, city, industry, business size, your photo and logo, and the month you joined. Your name and LinkedIn appear only if you ticked "Show my name and LinkedIn on the profile". Your email is never shown.
Your profile links to your website. Ask us to change or remove your listing at any time and we'll do it within 30 days.
Who handles it
- Google Sheets, where form responses are stored
- Supabase, a database in Tokyo that keeps a private copy of the same list for the members' area we're building
- Google Drive, where profile photos and logos are stored until they're published
- Vercel, which hosts this website
This site doesn't use analytics cookies or tracking pixels.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you're part of Remote Builders or until you ask us to delete them. Requests we don't take further are deleted after 12 months.
Your choices
Every update email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to stop them.
Permission you gave Bali Startup & Tech covers BSTC event and community emails only. Remote Builders updates need their own tick on a Remote Builders form.
Email us and we'll delete your details within 30 days. Write to lachlan.mcritchie@gmail.com.
