The right founder community in Austin is the one you'll go back to: a monthly pitch night, a dinner with five other founders, a morning coffee or a clubhouse you can work from. Below are 12 communities, each checked on its own pages on 28 October 2026, with what each costs, how to get in and when it next meets.

A note before you read on: this guide is published by Remote Builders, our own free community for founders who build companies remotely, which you can join online from Austin. It isn't in the table, because it doesn't meet in Austin. We've left out any number we couldn't find on a community's own page.

How to choose a founder community in Austin

Pitch nights and monthly meetups

  • FIESTA meets at Capital Factory in downtown Austin on the third Tuesday of each month, with funder spotlights from VCs and angels. Founders of venture-backed, scalable companies who have attended can apply to pitch every six months. It marked five years in July 2026 and began a Round Rock edition in September 2026.
  • Austin Startup Meetup meets at STATION Austin on Brazos Street, with lightning pitches from the audience and a local startup's story each month. It's free, and the next nights are 2 November and 7 December 2026.
  • Capital Factory runs pitch days, meetups and summits, and has an All Access network for experienced founders.

Dinners, coffees and a clubhouse

Founder Dinners Austin seats six founders matched by sector and revenue stage at a local restaurant, with no selling or pitching; its latest dinners we found were on 29 July 2026. Red Fridge Society is a founders-only clubhouse whose host checks each person is a founder; paid memberships fund its free events, and founders new to Austin can apply for a free month. Startup Grind Austin's latest event we found was a daytime dance social on 9 May 2026, with no panels or pitches.

Women and international founders

  • The Artemis Fund's Female Founders Coffee: a quarterly morning coffee for Austin's female founder community. The 30 October 2026 edition, part of Austin Tech Week, sold out.
  • DivInc: free accelerators that take no equity, for diverse and under-resourced founders. Its Women in Tech accelerator began on 21 September 2026 and runs for 10 weeks, with in-person weeks in Austin, and it held a Founders After Five mixer on 30 July 2026.
  • International Founders Network Austin: a monthly meetup on the fourth Thursday at STATION Austin, with short expert sessions on the issues international founders face.

Niche founder groups

Wake Up! CPG is a monthly morning coffee for people running or starting consumer packaged goods brands, at Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden on Pickle Road. Austin Hardtech runs founder roundtables, workshops and factory visits for hardtech founders in Central Texas. Agent Builders Breakfast is a breakfast for founders and builders working on AI agents, with no agenda and no pitches; its first Austin edition was on 19 May 2026 and its latest we found was on 21 July 2026.

Notes on the table

  • Upcoming events. The Artemis Fund's coffee is on 30 October, Austin Startup Meetup is on 2 November and 7 December, and International Founders Network Austin is on 26 November.
  • No next date posted. Founder Dinners Austin, Agent Builders Breakfast and Startup Grind Austin had no upcoming Austin date on their pages when we checked, so ask before you plan around them.
  • Event dates from Luma. For The Artemis Fund's coffee, International Founders Network Austin, Founder Dinners Austin and Agent Builders Breakfast, the date comes from the event data in Luma's page code rather than the page text, and so does the US$0 price on those listings.

Communities we checked and left out

We left out groups with no dated event since April 2026 (including Founders Running Club Austin, whose latest dated run in its page text was in December 2025), groups for the wider tech or AI scene rather than founders, a newsletter with a single meetup, a global series with one Austin event, sites curl couldn't read or date, and a one-off event. We didn't find a climate, Latino, Black or indie hacker founder group in Austin that met that bar; if you run one, tell us and we'll check it.

Austin's founders in numbers

Startup Genome's 2026 Global Startup Ecosystem Report puts Austin's ecosystem value at $107 billion for H2 2023 to 2025, against a global average of $25 billion (currency not named for either), and shows $4.1 billion (currency not named) of Seed and Series A funding over the same period. The Austin Chamber said on 24 August 2026 that the region is building a reputation as a deep technology hub.

How to get value in your first month

  1. Pick one monthly night and one smaller format. A pitch night, plus a dinner or a coffee.
  2. Go to the same one three times. By the third, people know what you're building.
  3. Bring one specific ask. "I need an intro to a founder who has sold into Texas school districts" gets you somewhere.
  4. Start free. Austin Startup Meetup and International Founders Network Austin cost nothing.
  5. Add a broader group. Our US and Canada guide covers other cities, and our comparison of communities for remote founders covers the online options.

Common mistakes

  • Only going to pitch nights. Most of the help comes from other founders, not investors.
  • Saying yes to everything. Pick two or three and go often.
  • Planning around an old date. Several of these groups post dates late, so check the listing the week before.
  • Waiting for the perfect group. If nothing fits your niche, start one. Our guide to starting a founder meetup covers the first three events.
